Closer Look

As I look at the needs of our children and the demands of society today, it is a daunting task to provide for the needs of each and every child. However, that is our goal. It is a fact that we cannot do this alone. It is therefore important that we work with the families, community organizations and others to help remove any barriers that may inhibit the wholesome growth of each individual child.

Every day, I see much potential in these children to become future professionals and leaders in the community and the world. We will determine to give each and every child the advantage of having caring adults that believe every boy and girl can achieve to the highest standards.

It is our goal that each child is given the tools to further their education to the fullest. To this end, we will continue to supplement the regular classroom instruction with: tutoring opportunities, music (choir and band) programs, sports, cheerleading, Indy Parks-RAP programs, Scouts, ReadUp for the 4th and 5th grade students, art contests, and service projects. We now have a full-time parent liaison/community representative to help bridge the information gap between school and/or community and the home. Various businesses have stepped up to partner with us on a variety of programs. We will continue to work with neighborhood organizations and faith based organizations to provide additional opportunities and supports for our children. The key to success is a positive relationship with the parents/guardians of each child. It is only through this teamwork that we will succeed.
